Pentecost Island is one of the 83 islands that make up the South Pacific nation of Vanuatu. It lies 190 km (118 miles) due north of capital Port Vila. Pentecost Island is known as Pentecôte in French.

Manuscript. Re queries about South and Central Raga. Suggests contact with the Rev. Jordan Butu, a very knowledgeable speaker of Pentecost and adjacent languages. The second letter contains information on N. Raga moieties[?] and refers to languages on Aoba and Maewo. Promises to send a Raga vocabulary.
