The Australian Council of TESOL Associations has organised its Inaugural International TESOL conference ‘Pedagogies of Connection: Developing Individual and Community Indentities’ to take place in Alice Springs from 10/7 to 12/7/08. It also offers a one day symposium on 9/7 ‘Keeping Language Diversity Alive’ on language maintenance of community and Indigenous languages. This clash is a shame, it may mean that some Indigenous people and support staff will have less chance of getting funding to go to LingFest, as there is an alternative event locally.
